SECURE PIPES 2.0.15 User guide

Connection groups

Organize tagged connections, set their startup order and choose what happens if a member fails.

Configure tag-based connection groups

Connections organized by the Demo Workflow tag

Open Connections → Connection Groups → Settings. Groups use tag names; one local-forward, remote-forward or SOCKS profile can belong to several groups. Add a group, then select its member checkboxes. The filter, Type and Subcategory columns help find profiles. Drag the six-dot handle to order selected members; drag groups to order the group list.

Group settings with sequential startup and failure policy

Choose Concurrent to start members together, or Sequential to wait for each member before starting the next. For sequential startup, On Failure offers Continue, Stop, or Stop and Disconnect All. The last option disconnects the current group's members, including members already connected or shared with another group; it can also cancel overlapping group startup. Stop alone does not disconnect every established member.

Already connected members are skipped. Connecting or reconnecting members reuse the current attempt rather than starting another copy. Favorite Group puts a group near the front and in the menu bar's Connection Groups menu. Connect automatically when the app launches is a separate opt-in.

Group indicators show green when all members are connected, an error when a member has failed, a waiting state while members are connecting, and gray when all are disconnected. Check the individual member when a group is only partly connected. The screenshots verify configuration, not a successful SSH startup.

The AppleScript and spcli group commands above iterate profiles with the matching tag. They do not use the Connection Groups window’s Concurrent/Sequential or On Failure settings. A start request can return before SSH is connected, and an immediate start error stops the remaining requests. To use the configured startup policy, start the group from the app’s group controls.
